Tenuate (Diethylpropion) Administration

Oral Administration
Tablets: Diethylpropion immediate- and sustained-release tablets are administered orally. Immediate-release diethylpropion should be administered one hour before meals, and may also be administered in the mid-evening. Sustained-release diethylpropion should be administered in the mid-morning.

NOTE: To limit unwarranted exposure and risks, treatment with diethylpropion should be continued only if the patient has satisfactory weight loss within the first 4 weeks of treatment (e.g., weight loss of at least 4 lbs, or as determined by the physician and patient).
