Tamiflu Interactions
No drug interactions of clinical significance are predicted between Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) and other agents based upon pharmacology and pharmacokinetic studies. Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) and Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) carboxylate are not substrates for and do not affect any cytochrome P450 isoenzymes. Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) does not interfere with the antibody response to the influenza vaccine.
Coadministration of Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) and probenecid results in a two-fold increase in exposure to oseltamivir carboxylate due to a decrease in active anionic tubular secretion in the kidney. However, due to the safety margin of oseltamivir carboxylate, no dosage adjustments are required when oseltamivir is given concomitantly with probenecid.
Co-administration of Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) with amoxicillin does not alter plasma levels of either compound, indicating that competition for the anionic secretion pathway is weak.
