Calcipotriene (Dovonex) Indications and Dosage
For the treatment of plaque psoriasis:
Topical dose (ointment):
Adults: Apply topically as a thin layer to affected area(s) once daily in the morning or twice daily in the morning and evening for up to 8 weeks. Do not exceed 100 g/week.
Children: Safe and effective use has not been established. Children are more likely than adults to experience systemic effects from topical application of drugs due to their higher ratio of skin surface area to body mass.

Adults: Apply topically as a thin layer to affected area(s) twice daily in the morning and evening for up to 8 weeks. Do not exceed 100 g/week.

- for the treatment of chronic, moderate scalp psoriasis:
Topical dose (scalp solution):
Adults: Apply topically to the affected area(s) of scalp twice daily.
Maximum Dosage Limits:
- Adults: 100 g/week topically.
- Elderly: 100 g/week topically.
- Adolescents: Safe and effective use not established.
- Children: Safe and effective use not established.
Patients with hepatic impairment:
No dosage adjustment required.
Patients with renal impairment:
Specific guidelines for dosage adjustments in renal impairment are not available; it appears that no dosage adjustments are needed.
