Albendazole Administration
Oral Administration
- Administer tablets orally with water.
- Albendazole is generally poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and should be taken with food. To increase the oral bioavailability of albendazole, it is recommended to administer albendazole with a fatty meal.
- Albendazole tablets may be crushed and mixed with applesauce or pudding if needed to ease administration to certain populations (e.g., children).
- Fasting, purgation, or special diets are not necessary prior to administration.
