Description: Colchicine is an ancient remedy for the treatment of articular pain. Use of Colchicum alkaloid for the treatment of acute gout occurred as early as 1810, and reports of its medicinal value exist from the first century AD. Colchicine is the preferred agent in the treatment of acute gouty arthritis. It also has been used in the management of amyloidosis, Behcet’s disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, familial Mediterranean fever, Paget’s disease, pericarditis, and pseudogout. Colchicine has also been beneficial in the treatment of biliary and hepatic cirrhosis. Colchicine was first approved by the FDA in December 1939. Colchicine is available in oral and intravenous dosage forms, but the parenteral route should be avoided due to the potential for serious toxicity.

¿Qué son las tabletas de drospirenona; etinil-estradiol?
La combinación de DROSPIRENONA; ETINIL-ESTRADIOL (Yasmin®) es un anticonceptivo oral (píldora anticonceptiva o “la píldora"). Este producto combina estrógenos y progestiñas similares a las hormonas sexuales naturales (estrógeno y progesterona) producidas en el cuerpo de la mujer. El etinil-estradiol es el estrógeno y la drospirenona es la progestiña. Este producto puede evitar la ovulación y el embarazo. En general, la combinación de estrógeno y progestiña actúa mejor que los productos que contienen un sólo ingrediente. Las tabletas de drospirenona; etinil-estradiol también ayudan a regular el flujo menstrual y tratar el acné, y pueden usarse para otros problemás femeniños relacionados con las hormonas. No hay un producto genérico disponible para esta píldora anticonceptiva.
